A few weeks after selling their expansive Toluca Lake estate for $14.24 million, “Home Alone” star Macaulay Culkin and longterm partner Brenda Song reportedly spent $10.3 million on a new residence in Los Angeles.
According to reports, Culkin, 45, and Song, 37, who have been dating since 2017 and have two kids together, “scooped up” a six-bedroom, nine-bathroom home in Sherman Oaks, California.
The opulent home, which was originally advertised for $12.75 million in January—more than $2 million more than the final transaction price—seems to have been acquired by the Hollywood power couple.
Less than a month after the sale of their previous residence was completed, according to property records, the acquisition of the six-bedroom residence concluded on March 6.
Built in 1989, the 10,200-square-foot property has a number of opulent features, such as a game room, a sports court, a full gym, and an outdoor party terrace.
On one date, Song made Culkin a steak meal at home, and on another, she showed him how to do his laundry. Culkin was then invited by Song to spend Christmas at her parents’ house.
Culkin acknowledged that a large portion of his life now revolves around his work at home, where he has joyfully taken on the role of full-time father for a number of years, allowing Song to concentrate on her on-screen career.
The Cosmopolitan writer observed, “These days, Mack seems totally happy being the homebody dad hanging with his kids, 2-year-old Carson and 3-year-old Dakota.”
In an interview with the publication in January 2025, the pair stated that they had since learned to strike a better balance between their own professional endeavors and their responsibilities as parents, doing so “without a nanny” and instead depending on Song’s parents for assistance when needed.
The couple said that they put a lot of effort into keeping their private life just that—secret. In fact, Culkin expressed pride in the fact that people were still perplexed by his and Song’s relationship and the fact that they had two children together.
For the benefit of their sons, Culkin persuaded Song to participate in their Cosmopolitan cover shoot, which marked the beginning of the pair’s explanation that they had finally reached a point where they were prepared to share more of their life with the world.
The “Home Alone” star’s calm “homebody dad” lifestyle is very different from the one he had during the height of his celebrity, when he was living in a New York apartment that he bought when he was just 19 years old, being trailed by paparazzi, and having his name splashed across tabloid front pages.
