One of India’s engineering wonders is the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway. The 135.6-kilometer Western Peripheral Expressway connects Sonipat, Kharkhoda, Bahadurgarh, Badli, Jhajjar, Manesar, Nuh, Sohna, Hathin, and Palwal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the motorway in November 2018. Since then, real estate development has improved in New Delhi and Haryana.

For many years, towns like Palwal, Aligarh, and Alwar had trouble drawing developers and real estate investors. The lack of quick and dependable connectivity to Delhi NCR was a significant factor in this delayed expansion. Buyers and builders were less interested due to poor road access and lengthy travel durations. As a result, there was little demand in these areas for residential and commercial projects. But after the KMP Expressway was inaugurated, things were different. Daily travel is now quicker and easier thanks to improved connectivity. Developers and end users wishing to purchase plots in Palwal for residential and investment purposes are now more interested as a result of this change.

In a similar vein, improved access has prompted buyers to purchase plots in Aligarh, where land costs are still relatively low. Due to its advantageous location and better road connections, Alwar has also attracted more interest from investors who intend to purchase plots there. All things considered, the KMP Expressway has significantly increased real estate activity in the smaller towns that surround Delhi NCR.

A brief overview of Western Peripheral Expressway details is provided in the article. This is a summary of the KMP Expressway route map, complete with distance and other information.

Full Name of KMP Expressway

Traffic from Delhi is diverted by the Kundli Manesar Palwal Expressway, often known as the Western Peripheral Expressway. It traverses the state of Haryana and the outskirts of Delhi. The greatest ring road surrounding Delhi is completed by the Western Peripheral Expressway and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

Route Map of the KMP Expressway with Distance

The KMP Expressway stretches from its northernmost point at Kundli in Sonipat to its southernmost point at Dholagarh in Palwal. Due to Kundali’s close proximity to Delhi, the highway has greatly enhanced regional connectivity and increased demand for residential real estate. Due to improved road connectivity and quicker travel times, Sonipat has also become a popular housing location along the corridor, drawing homebuyers interested in purchasing apartments there. The Kundli Manesar Palwal Expressway route map with distance is shown below, emphasizing crucial localities connected by this significant infrastructure project.

KMP Expressway: Total Price

The Kundli Manesar Palwal Expressway was built at a total cost of Rs 9000 crore. Rs 2998 crore of this Rs 9000 crore was used to purchase land from landowners, and the remaining Rs 6400 crore was used to build and develop the highway.

KMP Expressway: Maximum Speed

On the Kundli Manesar Palwal Expressway, there is a speed limit for both heavy and light vehicles. The speed restriction is 120 km/h for LMVs and 100 km/h for HMVs. This limit is imposed by the Indian government, although the state government has set a speed limit of 80 km/h for LMVs and 60 km/h for HMVs over an 83-kilometer stretch between Manesar and Kundli. This decision was made by the Haryana government as a result of an increase in the frequency of accidents on this specific section of the expressway.

Additionally, the Kundli Manesar Palwal Expressway has a medical trauma center and helipad. Every 20 kilometers, a crane, police patrol car, and ambulance are available to handle emergencies.

Impact of the KMP Expressway on Real Estate

Since its opening, the Western Peripheral Expressway (KMP expressway) has shown itself to be a real estate catalyst. More real estate developers are building new buildings as a result of better connectivity. Additionally, a number of businesses, including Atlas, Hilton Rubber, and ECE, are establishing themselves around the motorway, creating more job opportunities.

Because the regions are on the periphery, a buyer can purchase a home for a reasonable price. Both the cost of real estate and the rental rate are cheaper in these places. In areas like Kundli, Sonipat, Jhajjar, Gurgaon, Mewat, and Palwal, it has revived growth. The fact that it is connected to National Highways (NH) 1, 2, 8, and 10 is another important feature that makes it a game-changing motorway.

To improve the real estate situation, the Haryana government intends to build five new, contemporary cities along the Kundli Manesar Palwal Expressway. Property prices in places like Sonipat, Palwal, and Manesar increased by 10% to 15%.

Future Connections for the KMP Expressway

December 2023 may see the opening of a 59-kilometer DND-Faridabad-KMP motorway. Ashram-Faridabad traffic would be much less congested once the expressway opens. This connection will link the Kundli Manesar Palwal Expressway close to Sohna with the DND flyover and Ring Road.

KMP Expressway: Stations for Multimodal Transit

Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HSIIDC) is responsible for the development and management of KMP Expressway. Western Peripheral Expressway: Unusual Information

The following are some fascinating details regarding the KMP Expressway, also known as the Western Peripheral Expressway:-

There have been about 50,000 fewer cars from Delhi since the KMP highway opened. Now, one may go from northern India to southern India without going through Delhi.

Five districts are covered by the Western Peripheral Expressway: Palwal, Mewat, Jhajjar, Sonipat, and Gurugram.

The KMP Expressway didn’t begin construction for sixteen years. The expressway began operations in 2018 after being planned in 2003. There were delays for a number of reasons.

The expressway was intended to have four lanes, but those lanes were later added.

Khus grass has been sown on the sides to stop mudslides. The grass purifies the surroundings by absorbing carbon dioxide.

Arjun, Sheesham, and neem trees are planted along the whole length. There are also historical and cultural monuments at the fountains. Public amenities including police stations, ambulances, and refueling stations are up to date on the expressway to provide safe mobility.

Updates on the Kundli Manesar Palwal Expressway

Shift at Kherki Daula Toll Plaza

Travelers near Gurugram on NH-48 are greatly relieved by the relocation of the Kherki Daula toll plaza. This modification is intended to alleviate severe daily traffic bottlenecks.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) made the decision to move the plaza in order to reduce traffic.

New Location: The toll will relocate approximately 13 kilometers ahead of its present location. It is being constructed close to the town of Kukrola. Just past the KMP Expressway exit leading to Gurugram is this place.

Technology: The Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) technology will be utilized in the new plaza. Cars can pass without stopping thanks to this mechanism. It automatically collects the toll using digital tags.

Local Benefit: Gurugram commuters will have access to a roughly 13-kilometer toll-free portion thanks to this change. Additionally, travel times to Manesar will improve.

DND-Faridabad-KMP Motorway Connection

Officially known as NH-148NA, this project is a major new route. It offers a quick, direct path to the nation’s capital from the KMP Expressway.

Route: There are six lanes on the 59-kilometer highway. It passes through the Faridabad bypass after starting at Delhi’s DND Flyway. Near Sohna, it links to the KMP Expressway.

Status: A significant portion of the route is currently open. The public is currently using the 24-kilometer Faridabad length (from Jaitpur/Mithapur to Sector-65). Construction is still ongoing on the final 9 km of elevated land between Mithapur and the DND flyover.

Impact: When this link is completely operational, travel times from South Delhi and Noida to the KMP will be significantly reduced. Additionally, it will assist divert traffic from the congested Ashram-Faridabad road.
