An acre is 43,560 square feet. One half acre equals 21,780 square feet. However, most individuals struggle to visualize the size of a lot.
A half-acre lot roughly equals:
217.8 feet deep by 100 feet broad.
200 feet deep by 109 feet broad.
150 feet deep by 145 feet wide.
Since many lots in town are 50 feet wide and 100 feet deep, this would be nearly four lots side by side. Or it might be two lots broad and two lots deep.
A typical 50 by 100 foot property in town is around 1/8 acre in size.
-Don’t forget the customary acre size of 660 × 66 feet (1/8 mile by 1/80 mile). So you might easily imagine that as 660 by 33 feet or 330 feet by 66 feet.
