Adani Group Limited, Airports Company South Africa, and Bidvest won the competition to manage and operate CSMIA. To ensure the airport’s successful management and modernisation, Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), a joint venture between AAI (26%) and the consortium (74%), was formed.

Terminal 1 (T1): The closest metro station to Terminal 1 is Airport Road Metro Station on Mumbai Metro’s Blue Line. It is approximately 2 kilometres away from the terminal building. You must take a taxi or an auto-rickshaw to get there.
The proposed underground Mumbai Metro Line 3 from Cuffe Parade to SEEPZ will service Mumbai Airport via Sahar, Santacruz, and GVK Skycity stations. The line will allow you to travel between Colaba and CSMIA in 40 minutes.
Mumbai Metro Line 8 would connect Mumbai Airport with the future Navi Mumbai International Airport. The ‘Gold Line’, which is now under construction, will be 40 km long and include elevated and underground stations. It expects to recover Rs. 7,600 crore in revenue from about 229 million people who will travel via Mumbai Airport.
According to officials, the Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Terminal 1 refurbishment would be completed in phases. This will help to minimize service disruptions. The destruction of the terminal is anticipated to begin in November 2025. Once completed, it will proceed with the development of the airport’s new terminal building.
